The Arkansas State Police say they have been asked to investigate a possible homicide that occurred in Gould Friday evening.

State police say that the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department contacted them to take over a possible homicide investigation after the discovery of a body at 206 Jocelyn Street in Gould.

According to state police, the body of 36-year-old Vintrael Allen McKinzie was found inside the residence, and special agents of the state police’s criminal investigation division believe a shooting incident may have occurred either late in the afternoon of Oct. 15 or in the early evening hours.

One suspect has been questioned by special agents. No arrests have been made.

The body of McKinzie has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where a state medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

State police say the Lincoln County prosecuting attorney will meet with special agents to review the file and determine whether an arrest warrant should be issued.
