TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) is hosting the 22nd annual Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 23.
TAPD says they have teamed up with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Harbor House Prevention to ensure that the drugs can be disposed of properly.
Some officers from the Arkansas side police force will be available at the Texarkana Emergency Center and Hospital at 4646 Cowhorn Creek Road.
Officers will receive drop-offs at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If the time frame on Oct. 23 doesn’t work, individuals are invited to use the drug drop-off bins that are located at the Texarkana Emergency Center and Hospital, the Bi-State Center, and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.
All individuals have to do in order to dispose of the drugs is drive up on and during the 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and drop off the drugs for the officers. Individuals do not need to get out of their vehicles.
TAPD says they cannot accept the following items: synergies or any type of sharps, inhalers, aerosol cans, mercury thermometers, and iodine containing medications.
