It took until the second quarter for the Gilmer Buckeyes to post their first score of the game, but they never looked back en route to a 51-7 rout of the Liberty-Eylau Leopards Friday night at Harris Field.
The Leopards chipped into the Buckeye’s commanding lead with a touchdown in the third quarter, trailing 24-7. However, Gilmer scored with four straight touchdown drives to settle the 51-7 final score.
Liberty-Eylau falls to 5-3 overall with a 2-1 record in district play. The Buckeyes are 7-1 and are tied with Pleasant Grove with a 3-0 district record.
