LONGVIEW, Texas — The Pleasant Grove Hawks weren’t able to withstand the onslaught from the Willis Wildkats Friday afternoon at the White Oak Tournament.
The leading scorer for the Hawks was Martin Hailey, who added 13 points. Cohen Cade, Brenton Clark, and Whitt Lawrence had 11 points apiece.
Coach Craig Collvins says his team “ran out of gas” in the fourth quarter due to the full court press from Willis.
“We had the lead until the last part of the third quarter and we were down by five going into the fourth,” said Collvins. “Our guys fought but eventually ran out of gas against their full court pressure. Couldn’t be more proud of our guys no matter what the score was. I think the way they fight every game will eventually pay off for us going forward.”
The Hawks fall to 3-3 on the season.
