NORTH LAMAR, Texas — The North Lamar Pantherettes walked off the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks 10-9 in varsity softball.

The game came down to the last play, tied at nine with North Lamar batting in the bottom of the seventh when Lexi Snyder induced Herberger to hit into a fielder’s choice, but the runner from third was able to slide in safe for the winning run.

Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. A few too many errors was the downfall for the Lady Hawks.

Pleasant Grove got things moving in the first inning. Abby Runion drove in one when Runion singled. They then scored five runs in the fourth inning, to take a 9-5 lead. Pleasant Grove big bats in the inning were led by Lexi Snyder, Adison Koller, and Presley Humphrey, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Texas Rangers

North Lamar would plate 2 in the 5th, 1 in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to complete the come back. A game the Hawks let slip away and would love to have back. They will have a chance to get the bad taste out of their mouth when they take on the Liberty-Eylau Lady Leopards on Tuesday at the Grove.

Snyder took the loss for the Lady Hawks. She pitched a complete game allowing 7 hits, 3 ER runs while striking out nine and walking one.

Presley Humphrey led the way offensively for the Lady Hawks she was 3-3 at the plate which included a 2 run HR. Ann Lindsey had a 2 RBI single, Adi Koller also had a 2 RBI single, Lexi Snyder and Mackenzie Williams both had a Double in this one to round out the offense.
