PITTSBURG, Texas — The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks continued their dominance at the plate as they blasted the Pittsburg Lady Pirates 15-5 Friday night.
Lexi Snyder was impressive on the mound as she delivered nine strikeouts. At the plate Snyder produced two home runs and a double while going 4-6.
Presley Humphrey was 4-5 with a home run. Annalise Lindsey was 4-5 with three doubles.
Coach Becca Collom was pleased with the way the offense performed at the plate.
“It awesome that we are producing at the plate as much as we are,” Collom said. “Just means that we are hitting all the way through the lineup and passing the bat to keep innings alive to push runs across. Glad to see tonight that we jumped out quick and adjusted well. Much better from Wednesday. I think we will continue to grow in the box and hopefully keep that trend!”
On the season, Snyder has four home runs while Presley has three.
The Lady Hawks are 2-1 in district play and will take on the Gilmer Lady Buckeyes Tuesday evening.
“With Gilmer we will have to adjust to quicker pitching and better placement so repping that in bp to get timing and focus on directional hitting,” Collom said. “Defensively we just need to shore up some things, because we will need to put a clean 7 innings together in order to compete and give ourselves an opportunity to win.”
