TTPD arrests suspect connected to Oaklawn Village Shopping Center parking lot shooting

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) says they have made an arrest connected to the shooting the occurred Friday evening in the Oaklawn Village Shopping Center parking lot.

Texarkana Texas police say they have arrested 21-year-old Latavion Larry for deadly conduct after a warrant was issued for his arrest this past weekend. Police say they used video from cameras at a nearby business to identify Larry as one of the shooters.

According to police, they were called to the shopping center a little after 6:00 p.m. March 25 and discovered a 33-year-old man who appeared to be shot. The victim and his wife were getting ice at the self-serve ice machine in the parking lot, police say, when they heard gunshots. Police say the man was struck in the chest with a bullet that is believed to have come from a gunfight between two individuals 50 yards away across the parking lot.


Police say the victim was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital and is listed as being in stable condition.

According to police, Larry is being held in the Bi-State Jail with a $1 million bond. However, police are still asking for the public’s help with information regarding the entirety of the incident.
