TEXARKANA — The Texas High Tigers produced 11 hits to catapult past the Mount Pleasant Tigers 14-5 Tuesday evening.
Luke Smith was 2-4 at the plate with a single and two RBI. Smith also managed to belt a home run and score two runs while drawing a walk.
Jordan Crouch was 2-3 at the plate with two singles and two RBI along with a walk.
Jacob Yowell was 1-3 with a single, an RBI, a walk, and scored two runs.
Cody Reese was 2-3 with two singles and two RBI with three runs scored. Reese also managed to draw two walks.
“Started off great, a little lull in the middle innings, then finished off great in the last two innings,” coach Johnny McClure said. “That puts us 4-1 and in a tie for first place after five games.”
Nathan Steeele earned the win for the Tigers as he went 4.1 innings and gave up six hits, five walks, five runs, and generated seven strikeouts.
Sawyer Pritchard also took the mound for 2.2 innings, giving up two hits, two walks, but striking out four in the process.
Mount Pleasant had eight hits on the evening and gave up two errors. Texas High sustained just one error throughout the contest.
