TEXARKANA — Nathan Steele went all seven innings and struck out eight Sulphur Springs Tigers as the Texas High Tigers earned a tight victory 1-0 Tuesday night.
Steele gave up only five hits and also walked just two batters.
“Nathan Steele was phenomenal on the mound,” coach Johnny McClure said. “He struck out eight, gave up 5 hits and never allowed a runner to third base.”
At the plate, Steele was 1-2 with a single and also drew a walk.
Jacob Yowell was 2-3 at the plate with two singles. Sawyer Pritchard was 1-2 with a single. Nate Mennie was 1-2 with a single.
Dalton Raley was walked in the fourth inning and managed to score the only run of the game.
Texas High and Sulphur Springs each had five hits and an error.
