TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas School District has named William ‘Trey’ Outlaw as the new head football coach and athletic director.

TASD superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler looks forward to the energy Outlaw will bring to the program.

“His energy and drive along with his experience and background will lead our program to the next level,” Dr. Kesler said.

Before coming to Arkansas High, Outlaw was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the El Dorado Wildcats, which won the 2021 6A State Championship, made the 2020 quarterfinals, and qualified for the postseason in 2019.

Outlaw has 10 years of coaching experience that includes being the athletic director and head football coach at Bearden High School along with defensive coordinator in Wynne and Gosnell, Arkansas. Outlaw also served as the assistant varsity football coach in Brookland and Barton, Arkansas.

“Successful academic performance is the key ingredient to sustaining a championship level program,” Outlaw said. “All athletes are students first, and graduating high school is the top priority above any other achievement for our athletes.”

Outlaw is an alumnus of Arkansas State University where he earned a bachelor of science in physical education, master of science in educational leadership, and education specialist degree in district level leadership.
