The Arkansas State Police say that a 64-year-old man, who was was a suspect in double murders of a Marion County couple earlier in May, has waived his extradition.

According to state police, Dale Mark Stikeleather had resided at a home near the murder scene, but later located in Sugarland, Texas.

Special agents from the state police’s criminal investigation division questioned Stikeleather on May 16 at his new residence in Sugar Land, Texas, inside the greater Houston metropolitan area. Stikeleather was later charged in Marion County with theft of property and held in Texas.

State police say that Stikeleather waived extradition and was transported to Yellville (Marion County) by a prisoner transport service arranged by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

State police say that once back in Arkansas, the charges were amended to include two counts of capital murder, aggravated residential burglary and felon in possession of a firearm. Stikeleather is being held without bond.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has asked that the state police join in their ongoing investigation.

State police say that sheriff’s deputies were contacted on May 11 and requested to check the welfare of Jeffrey and Kimberly Watson at 2386 Mallard Terrace south of Flippin. Once inside the home, deputies discovered the bodies of the Watson’s.  Both had been shot and their truck was missing.
