Domestic Texas affiliates 4-1 last night, including a 19-run win by the ACL Rangers over the ACL Padres (20-1):

Round Rock was out-hit 12-6 in last night’s 5-6 loss to the visiting Sugar Land Space Cowboys…LF Willie Calhoun (2-run) and 1B Josh Sale (solo) hit home runs in the 1st and 9th innings, respectively…Sale has batted .375/.444/.813/1.257 (12-32) with 4 HR, 3B, 12 RBI and 4 BB/9 SO in 8 G with Round Rock since being promoted from Frisco (AA) on 6/8…RHP Kohei Arihara (L, 5.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R-ER, 0 BB, 5 SO) took the loss in his 8th start of 2022.


Frisco edged out a 1-0 victory over Midland at home last night…LHP Cody Bradford (W, 5.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 11 SO) struck out season-high 11 of 21 batters faced in 5.1 scoreless frames to earn his 5th win of the season…2B Trey Hair (2-for-4, HR, 2B, RBI) provided the game’s lone scoring output with a solo HR (12) in the 2nd inning…SS Jonathan Ornelas (3-for-4) and RF Kellen Strahm (3-for-4) combined for 6 singles.


Hickory blanked Greenville, 4-0, last night behind 5.0 shutout frames by start RHP John Matthews (W, 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 SO)…1B Frainyer Chavez (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) plated 2 of the Crawdads’ 4 runs…CF Jayce Easley (1-for-3, HR, RBI) belted a solo homer in the 3rd inning for his 3rd HR of the season…DH Luisangel Acuna (1-for-4) has hit safely in 14 straight games at .353 (18-51) w/ 3 HR and 12 RBI to raise his season BA from .291 to .321.

Red Sox Holds Off

Down East scored 2 runs in the 9th inning last night to steal a 3-1 win at Lynchburg…RHP Josh Stephan started the game for the Woodies (5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 3 SO), but it was RHP Bradford Webb who earned the win after fanning 8 batters over 4.0 scoreless frames of relief…SS Maximo Acosta (2-for-4, R) singled in the 9th and scored the eventual game-winning run on a wild pitch.


ACL Rangers erupted for 20 runs on 18 hits (2 HR, 6 2B) and 11 walks in yesterday’s 20-1 win over the ACL Padres in Surprise…4 Rangers had game-high 3 hits: 3B Gleider Figuereo (3-for-5, HR), CF Yeison Morrobel (3-for-4, 2 2B, BB), 1B Liam Hicks (3-for-3, 4 RBI, 2 BB), 2B Danyer Cueva (3-for-5, HR, 2B, 5 RBI)…LF Zion Bannister reached base 5 times on a single and career-high 4 BB…RHP Ismael Agreda earned the win after recording 5 SO over 3.0 SHOIP.
