Golf USA Texarkana, after serving the Texarkana area for nearly 30 years, is preparing to close its’ doors forever on Monday, June 27.
The business is holding a liquidation sale Friday, Saturday, and Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Once business hours end on Monday, the store will be closed for good. Golf USA was in business for 29 years, and reported record sales last year.
Fox Sports Texarkana’s Bob DelGiornio showed up to the business live on air Friday to discuss the closing and liquidation sale. Everything in the store has to go, even the business’ practice putting green. Salesman Matt Dinkel showed off the store’s stock and slashed prices. Many items are now being sold at a highly discounted price, like clubs, caps, bags, and shoes. Matt says the sale has been a success, but bittersweet. “It’s a sad deal to watch it go away, but it’s been going good,” Matt says.
“Nothing lasts forever,” says owner Tom Parsons
Store owner Tom Parsons came in and had a heartfelt talk with DelGiornio about the business. Parsons first thanked his customers over the years and his family. After coming off the best year in Golf USA franchise history, customers wondered why the successful business is shutting down. “The reality is… nothing lasts forever,” Parsons says. “I feel like Tom Brady… I’m just not coming back.” Golf USA has served Texarkana for nearly three decades, and while Parsons says “it’s been an awesome ride,” he’s also “looking forward to the next adventure.” If you’re looking to take advantage of Golf USA Texarkana’s limited-time liquidation sale, you can find the business at 5053 West Park Blvd. in Texarkana, Texas.
