TEXAS RANGERS MINOR LEAGUE REPORT MONDAY, JULY 11, 2022

ORGANIZATIONAL RECORD: 217-183 (.542), 5th-best in MLB

Pitchers of the Week: LHP Taylor Hearn (Pacific Coast League) and LHP Larson Kindreich (South Atlantic League) were named Pitchers of the Week for the week of July 4-10 in their respective leagues on Monday. Hearn earned the win in his lone start on Friday vs. Albuquerque (W, 5.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R-ER, 2 BB, 9 SO, 1 HR) and he is 1-0, 4.50 (5 ER/10.0 IP) with 5 BB/16 SO in 2 starts this month for Round Rock. Kindreich started Hickory’s combined 10 inning no-hitter on Sat. at Bowling Green (ND, 6.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 SO). Kindreich in 3 starts since his promotion to Hickory last month: 1-0, 0.60 ERA (1 ER/15.0 IP), 18 SO.

 

ROUND ROCK EXPRESS – L, 10-2 VS ALBUQUERQUE

Triple-A, Pacific Coast League (45-39, 3rd, 4.0 GB)

Round Rock fell to Albuquerque, 10-2 in the series finale on Sunday night…starter RHP Cole Winn struggled in his appearance, picking up his first loss of the season (1.2 IP, 6 H, 8 R-ER, 4 BB, 2 SO, 1 HR)…the Express’s offense struggled, but SS Ryan Dorow was the lone bright spot (3-4)…The Express will have an off day today before traveling to El Paso for a 6-game road trip.

 

FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS – L, 10-0 AT SAN ANTONIO

Double-A, Texas League (43-38, T1st, – GA)

Frisco struggled on both ends during their loss to San Antonio on Sunday night…Offensively, the RoughRiders only managed three hits in the game, with 2B Trey Hair (2-3, 2 2B) collecting two of their three hits…On the mound, RHP Jack Leiter struggled in his first start since skipping his last start due to normal arm fatigue (1.1 IP, 6 H, 7 R-6 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, 2 HR), he now owns a 6.30 ERA in 50.0 IP.

Frisco, the Texas Rangers’ Double-A affiliate, will also have an off day today as they will return home for a 6-game home stand this week against Midland.

HICKORY CRAWDADS – L, 11-4 VS BOWLING GREEN

High-A, South Atlantic League (44-37, 3rd, 7.0 GB)

Hickory took a series finale loss to Bowling Green 11-4 on Sunday…CF Evan Carter (2-3, R, BB) had the only multi-hit game for the Crawdads…1B Cristian Inoa accounted for all the Crawdads runs (1-4, HR, 4 RBI, R, BB)…starter RHP Mason Englert (2.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R-ER, 2 BB, 3 SO, 2 HR) took the loss…Hickory will have an off day as well today before returning to action on Tuesday against Wilmington.

 

DOWN EAST WOOD DUCKS – W, 2-0 AT FAYETTEVILLE

Low-A, Carolina League (41-39, 3rd, 4.5 GB)

Down East won a low-scoring affair on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, over Fayetteville…LF Alejandro Osuna (1-3, 2 RBI) drove in both of the Woodies runs in the game…SS Maximo Acosta scored a run in a 1-for-4 performance…RHP Winston Santos (6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R-ER, 2 BB, 3 SO) secured his fourth win
of the season…Down East will join the rest of the affiliates in an off day today before returning to action on Tuesday.

 

ACL RANGERS – OFF DAY

Arizona Complex League West (18-7, 1st, 4.5 GA)

The ACL Rangers had an off day on Sunday…Their 18-7 record is tied with the ACL Reds for the best record in the Arizona Complex League this season…Danyer Cueva ranks second in the ACL in BA (.360), JoJo Blackmon is T1st in HR (5), and Gleider Figuereo ranks first in both slugging (.667) and OPS (1.067)…The ACL Rangers will play against the ACL Mariners tonight at 8:00 p.m.
