TEXARKANA — Gregory Yates posted a spectacular 63 in Saturday’s final round to win the 2022 Texarkana Children’s Charities Open at Texarkana County Club. Northridge Country Club also hosted the pros in the first two rounds.

Yates pocketed $31,500 in scoring his second win of the year on the All Pro Tour. He now ranks No.1 on the Tour’s money list with $82,669.34. This year’s champion has only played in 11 events.  Yates’ outstanding performance featured rounds of 67, 68, 71 and 63.

Five strokes back of Yates was Kyle Wiltshire of  Georgetown, Ky. with a 72-hole score of 272. Wiltshire was one of three golfers to shoot in the 60s all four rounds. Andrew Presley of Fort Worth also scored in the 60s all four rounds to finish third.

Amanda Tan of Singapore had rounds of 69, 75, 66 and 69 won the women’s division, and pocketed $10,000 with a 72-hole score of 279 (5-under-par). New Zealand linkster Julianna Alvarez shot 68 on the final day to finish second at 284.

There were several local and area golfers entered, but none made Thursday’s cut. Sean Romero missed the cut by a single stroke (141). Carter Maneth was 1-over-143, while Garrett May shot 145.
