Pleasant Grove football staff and players gathered on the field today for the first practice of the ’22 season.
Pleasant Grove Hawks Head Coach Josh Gibson rallied the players on the field and hyped his teams up for a great year. Gibson then spoke to Fox Sports Texarkana’s Bob DelGiorno about the upcoming season. The Head Coach says the players are what will make this year so special. “I think they’re trying to do some special stuff together,” Gibson said. “They wanna be remembered, they wanna make a statement.” Gibson says he’s proud of the progress the team has made over the summer, and that their effort had shown in today’s practice through “comradery, effort, focus, and leadership.”
Bob DelGiorno also spoke with some PG players
Junior fullback Jaylen Boardley and senior Vic Shaw stopped by and talked with Bob DelGiorno about their offseason. Shaw says this summer he was “grinding” and focused on “getting his body right.” Boardley also opened up with DelGiorno about his summer. “You and I were kinda hooked on fast food, I’ll admit it, last year,” Bob confessed. “But it looks like you’ve been on some kinda serious diet this off-season.” Boardley smiles and replies, “I’ve been working on my speed. Trying to get my 40 down.”
