ROUND ROCK EXPRESS – L, 9-5 AT OKLAHOMA CITY
Triple-A, Pacific Coast League (59-51, 3rd, 4.0 GB)
Seven unanswered runs led OKC to a 9-5 win over Round Rock on Saturday night. DH Josh Jung broke open the scoring in the first inning when he hit a 2-R bomb to LF on an 0-2 pitch. He finished the game 2-for-4 with a HR, 2B, 2 RBI, R. LF Mark Mathias (2-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R) recorded his first HR with the Express and now has 3 multi-hit games with the team in his first 7 G. LHP Dallas Keuchel tossed 6.0 IP in his third start with the club. He allowed two earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six. Round Rock will look to bounce back in the final game of the series tonight at 6:05 p.m.
FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS – L, 5-4 VS SAN ANTONIO
Double-A, Texas League (58-49, 1st, 2.0 GA)
Frisco fell to San Antonio, 5-4, on Saturday night. Starter RHP Zak Kent tossed five innings and posted seven strikeouts in the loss (6 H, 3 R-ER). RHP Avery Weems contributed the final four innings for Frisco with four strikeouts (2 H, 2 R-ER). SS Jonathan Ornelas (1-5, 2 RBI) extended his hitting streak to 4 G after 2-out single that plated two in the 8th inning. 3B Justin Foscue doubled and scored an RBI in the game. Frisco will look to close the series out on a high note tonight at 6:05 p.m.
HICKORY CRAWDADS – W, 6-4 AT GREENVILLE
High-A, South Atlantic League (56-51, 3rd, 10.0 GB)
Hickory took a 6-4 victory over Greenville in game five of their series yesterday. Starter RHP Ricky Vanasco went five innings allowing one hit, four walks, and striking out six. 3B Thomas Saggese drove in an RBI in a 2-for-5 performance. CF Alejandro Osuna has hit safely in 8 of his last 9 G after a multi-hit game (2-5, R).
Hickory, the Texas Rangers’ High-A affiliate, will look to close out Greenville this afternoon at 2:05 p.m.
DOWN EAST WOOD DUCKS – W, 6-4 AT FAYETTEVILLE
Low-A, Carolina League (54-53, 4th, 5.5 GB)
Down East used a 6-run sixth inning to secure a 6-4 victory over Fayetteville yesterday evening. C Ian Moller (2-4, 2B, RBI, R) and 3B Miguel Villarroel (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI) each led the Woodie’s offense with two hits apiece. RHP Adrian Rodriguez earned the win after striking out two and allowing only a hit in 2 innings of work. The Wood Ducks will look to extend their winning streak to four with a win this afternoon at 1:05 p.m.
ACL RANGERS – W, 6-3 VS ACL WHITE SOX
Arizona Complex League West (31-17, 1st, 5.0 GA)
The ACL Rangers scored 6 runs in the final three innings to come out on top over the ACL Royals, 6-3. C Efrenyer Narvaez led the offense with a 2-for4 performance that included a RBI, BB, and R scored. SS Griffin Cheney (1-2, 3B, 2 RBI, R) smacked his first triple of the year. Starter RHP Dane Acker turned in a solid start for the Rangers. He tossed 4.0 IP, allowing three hits, one earned run, two walks, and posted three strikeouts. The ACL Rangers will have a off day on Sunday before returning to action on Monday.
