MARSHALL, Texas — The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks are off to a fast start at the Marshall volleyball tournament.
On Aug. 25, the Lady Hawks managed to defeat Rusk 25-10 twice in pool play. Reese Gibbs had 11 points served, and Adi Koller had seven kills.
“We came out smooth and the girls talked a lot and moved their feet,” coach Amy Collvins said. “It was a nice little game to start off the day.”
Against Hughes Springs in pool play, the Lady Hawks went 25-11 and 25-14.
The Rogers Trophy player of the game was Abby Runion, who had the last two points killed.
“Just to get it over the net,” Runion said after the game. “And I did. I got it killed.”
Rylie Williams had 17 points served.
Pleasant Grove (11-4) plays Friday against Redwater at 11:00 a.m. on Fox Sports 97.1 FM and 1400 AM with Bob DelGiorno calling the action.
