Here is the Texas Rangers’ minor league report for Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022:

Domestic Texas affiliates went 4-0 on Friday.

Round Rock (AAA) won their third consecutive game over OKC after a 3-2 win on Friday night. SS Davis Wendzel hit a walk-off solo-home run for the Express (1-4, HR, RBI, R). 2B Disobel Arias had the lone multi-hit game of the evening after going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a strikeout, Starter RHP Zak Kent made his Triple-A debut, tossing 5.2 IP while allowing only one run on two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

 

Frisco (AA) scored a record-high, 21 runs, in a 21-2 thrashing over Amarillo on Friday night. The Riders set and tied multiple franchise records, including most runs (21), the largest margin of victory (19 runs), most home runs in a game (tied with eight), most runs in a single inning (11) and most hits by one player in a single game (Blaine Crim with five). 1B Blaine Crim went 5-for-6 with a HR, 2 2B, 2 RBI, and 4 R scored as he finished a triple shy of the cycle.

3B Justin Foscue blasted two home runs for Frisco, the Texas Rangers’ Double-A affiliate, along with four RBI and three runs scored in a 3-for-6 performance.

Hickory (A+) cruised to a 9-2 victory over Aberdeen to even the series up at two games apiece. Starter RHP Ricky Vanasco went 5.0 innings pitched that saw four hits, two runs (one earned), two walks, and nine strikeouts to record his third win of the season. His nine strikeouts are the most he has recorded in a game this year since 6/29. C Cody Freeman and 3B Yenci Pena recorded multi-hit games for the Crawdads. Freeman finished the game 2-for-5 while Pena went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a R scored.

 

Down East (A) rounded out an affiliate sweep on Friday night witht a 5-1 win over Fayetteville. Starter RHP Gavin Collyer provided the Wood Ducks with a quality start after going six innings, allowing one run on one hit and one walk and five strikeout. RF Yeison Morrobel has hit safely in 4 of his last 5 games after going 2-for-3 with a 2B, RBI, BB, and R scored. CF Marcus Smith also recorded a multi-hit game for the Woodies after a 2-for-3 performance that included a RBI and 2 R scored.
