Here is the Texas Rangers minor league report for Sept. 5, 2022:

Domestic Texas affiliates went 2-2 on Sunday.

Round Rock (AAA) fell 5-3 to OKC in the fianl game of the series. Starter RHP Cole Winn took the loss for the

Express (8-6) after allowing five runs (four earned) in five innings pitched with three walks and six strikeouts. LF Josh Smith went 1-for-4 with an RBI as the leadoff man. 1B Andy Ibanez had the lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a 2B for the Express.


Frisco (AA) used a 7-run 7th and a 3-run 8th to complete a comeback win over Amarillo in Sunday’s series finale. 1B Blaine Crim continues to stay on a tear as he went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in the game. Crim finished the series hitting .500 (14-28) with 6 HR, 2 2B, and 15 RBI in 6 games played. DH Justin Foscue (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, BB, 2 R) and SS Jonathan Ornelas (2-5, RBI, BB, 2 R) each recorded Frisco’s only multi-hit games.

RF Aaron Zavala recorded one of the three multi-RBI games for the RoughRiders, the Texas Rangers’ Double-A affiliate, as he went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI, 2 BB, and 3 R scored.

Hickory (A+) fell to Aberdeen in the series finale by a final score of 4-2 on Sunday. Starter RHP Dane Acker pitched 3.2 innings with four hits, three runs, three waks, and five strikeouts as he took the loss for the Crawdads. 2B Thomas Saggese recorded Hickory’s lone multi-hit game as he tallied two of the team’s four hits in the game and finished 2-for-3 with a 2B and an RBI. 3B Cody Freeman (1-4) and pinch hitter Liam Hicks (1-1) recorded the Crawdads’ other two hits.


Down East (A) recorded only three hits as a team, but managed to pull out a 3-1 win in the series finale on Sunday. Starter RHP Aidan Curry struck out six Fayetteville batters with five walks and one hit in 3.1 innings pitched fo the Wood Ducks. 1B Abimelec Ortiz reached base a team-high three times as he went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two walks. 3B Miguel Villarroel went 1-for-3 as he has hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games.
