TEXARKANA — The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks beat the Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers three sets to one in varsity volleyball Tuesday at Hawk Gym.
The totals from the matches were:
25-19 — PG
25-22 — MP
25-22 — PG
25-16 — PG
Rylie Williams had 15 points and 10 digs.
Madison Carpenter had 15 points serving with 12 kills.
Adi Koller had 13 kills and 11 digs.
The Lady Hawks are 19-8 on the season.
“So glad to be playing a home game in front of the fans,” coach Amy Collvins said. “The girls came out sluggish and not moving as a unit on the court. Mount Pleasant did a good job about keeping our front row girls taking the first ball. Once we were able to get some reads on the ball and timing down the girls controlled the match.”
Lauren Stewart was the Rogers Trophy Player of the Match, and she had family from out of town cheering her on along with her friends.
“The student section is always great,” Stewart said. “My grandparents came into town and my uncle came into town. So, that’s my family members here.
With Pleasant Grove having a week off, Stewart says the team will work on their defense and conditioning drills.
