ROUND ROCK EXPRESS – L, 5-1 VS SUGAR LAND
Triple-A, Pacific Coast League (74-61, 3rd, 1.0 GB)
Round Rock split their series with Sugar Land after taking a 5-1 loss in the series finale yesterday afternoon. Starter RHP Spencer Howard took the loss as he made his first rehab start. Howard finished with the final line of 4.0 IP, 5 H, R-ER, 0 BB, and 4 SO. CF Eli White also made his first rehab appearance, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. PH Meibrys Viloria accounted for the team’s only run as he hit a pinch-hit home run in the 8th inning.
FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS – W, 18-3 VS TULSA
Double-A, Texas League (71-60, 1st, 3.5 GA)
The RoughRiders dominated Tulsa in the series finale of their series as they won 18-3. CF Josh Stowers led the way offensively for the ‘Riders as he recorded his second multi-HR game and set a new season-high with six RBI in a 3 for-4 performance. 1B Blaine Crim went 4-for-5 with a GS, 5 RBI, BB, and 3 R scored. In his last 14 G, Crim is hitting 27-60 (.450) with 7 2B, 8 HR, and 28 RBI. Starter RHP Ricky Vanasco took a no-decision after tossing 3.1 IP that saw five hits, three runs, two walks, and five strikeouts in his final home start of the season.
HICKORY CRAWDADS – L, 4-2 VS ROME
High-A, South Atlantic League (66-65, 3rd, 12.5 GB)
Hickory lost their season-finale to Rome by the final score of 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. RF Angel Aponte (2-4, R), LF Zion Bannister (2-3), and 3B Keyber Rodriguez (2-4, RBI) all recorded multi-hit games for the Crawdads. Aponte ended his season on a high note as he was on a 3 G hitting streak, going 7-13 (.538) with 2 2B and 3 RBI during that stretch. Starter RHP Dane Acker (2.1 IP, 3 H, 4 R-3 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO, 2 HR) took the loss in his final start of the season. He finished the season 0-3, 6.31 ERA (18 ER/25.2 IP) in 9 G/GS across the ACL and High-A.
RHP Ryan Garcia tossed five innings of relief for the Crawdads, the Texas Rangers’ High-A affiliate, that saw two hits, no runs, three walks, and six strikeouts.
DOWN EAST WOOD DUCKS – CANCELED
Low-A, Carolina League (65-66, 3rd, 10.0 GB)
Down East had their season-finale canceled due to rain on Sunday afternoon. The Wood Ducks went 3-7 in their last 10 G to finish off their season. They finished 3rd in their division, 10 games back of division leader Fredericksburg, and one game under .500 for the year.
ACL RANGERS – SEASON COMPLETE
Arizona Complex League West (32-22, 1st, 3.0 GA)
The ACL Rangers saw their season end on August 25th with a 9-6 loss to the ACL Giants Black squad in the ACL semifinals. The Rangers won the ACL West division by three games and finished with the 6th-best record in the Arizona Complex League at season’s end. In the middle of their season, the Rangers went on a historic 16 game winning streak. Since 2005, the year MLB began tracking day-by-day stats, the 16 G win streak is the longest win streak in the Arizona Complex League and for a Rangers affiliate.
