MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas ⁠— The Texas High Tigers tallied their fifth straight win as they beat the Mount Pleasant Tigers 58-27 Friday night at Sam Parker Field.

The Tigers generated 493 yards total offense compared to Mount Pleasant’s 260. Texas High scored on its first three possessions to build a 21-0 lead, which was the beachhead needed to rout Mount Pleasant.

Tradarian Bell had 17 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. Javari Johnson had 10 carries for 131 yards and three touchdowns.


David Potter was efficient for Texas High as he completed 12 passes on 17 attempts for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

For Mount Pleasant, Kyler Smith had five catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas High goes into its open week. The Tigers are 5-1 with a 2-0 record in District 8-5A, Div. II play.
