Texas High golfers tie for fifth place in Tradition at the Texas Star Golf Course

Texas High's Thomas Curry teed off Saturday in the Tradition at The Star Golf Course in Euless, Texas. Curry finished with a 1-under-par 70.

EULESS, Texas — Once again Texas High challenged the best Lone Star State schools and golfers in the Tradition at the Texas Star Golf Course.

Texas High finished tied for fifth place in the team competition at 308 with Highland Park Gold and Richardson Pearce. Trinity Christian Academy Blue won the 15-school competition with 293, and Tyler Legacy followed at 297. Grapevine was third at 306, while Dallas Jesuit followed at 307.


Tradition a challenging event

“It was a tough challenge playing in wet, rainy conditions,” said Texas High coach Ryan Huntze. “Definitely not our best performance, but hopefully we learned something from the experience.”

Texas High’s Thomas Curry tied for second place in the medalist competition behind Carson Harris of TCA White (69) and Ben Gregg of Richardson Pearce (69). Curry shot a 1-under-par 70, matching Jacob Cole of Tyler Legacy and Michael Chevalier of Grapevine.

Also representing the Tigers were John D. Patterson with a 78, Kaiden Neeley 79, and Will Davis 81.
