Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks basketball
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks girls varsity basketball team opened their 2022-2023 season with a 71-42 blow out win at Community High in Nevada, Tx.

The Lady Hawks were led by sophomore guard Kenasia Henry who scored 19 points. Senior guard Autumn Crouch scored 14 points for the Lady Hawks and Shalom Ezihe,  a junior forward  poured in thirteen.

Winter Crouch, Rashilla Williams and Abby Henard each scored 7 points for PG.
 Ezihe was the leading re-bounder for the Lady Hawks.

The Lady Hawks played great defense

Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head basketball coach Codi Davidson and she said she was proud of her Lady hawks players for their great defense. Pleasant Grove forced numerous turnovers in the game. They also racked up several steals.
“We hammered down the entire game, we shared the ball really well on offense, attacked the paint and we were aggressive which got us to the free throw line 19 times today,” Codi Davidson Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head girls basketball coach said. “We still have things to work on and iron out but overall I’m very happy with the way we played today.”

The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks (1-0) will play Arkansas High  at home Tuesday. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM, 1400 AM, and Fox Sports Texarkana on the Radio Streaming Now APP.
“We have to carry this energy over to next week and hopefully get another win,” Coach Codi Davidson said.
In the JV game, Pleasant Grove lost 28-26.  Freshman Carley Rhodes was the leading scorer for the PG – JV.
