Once ranked fourth in Class 5A Division II, Texas High bowed out of the playoffs in the first round to Terrell in overtime, 28-21.
Friday’s game at Tiger Stadium in Grim Park was tied 14-14 at halftime, and it was the same entering the final twelve minutes of action.
Texas High entered the game as the top seed, while Terrell was a four-seed from its district.
The host Tigers captured the lead with 6:25 left. DJ Johnson had Texas High at the visiting Tigers’ 1. A false start penalty put the ball at the 6, and freshman Tredarian Ball scored. Sophomore kicker Hunter Perez made it 21-14.

It took Terrell only three plays to pull even again. Sophomore Keiundre Johnson caught Texas High’s secondary sleeping and hauled in a 60-yard pass play. Senior Terry Davis scored two plays later from the 15 with 5:10 remaining.
Terrell got the ball back and was threatening when a sack spoiled those prospects.
Terrell got the ball first in overtime. Chase Bingmon carried twice to the Texas High 7, and scored on the next play.
THS had an incomplete pass on its first play. On second and 5 a low snap cost the Tigers 10 yards, and the game ended on an incomplete pass.
