Lady Hawks Queen City
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks girls varsity basketball team won both games at the Queen City tournament Friday, finishing 3-1 in the two-day event.

The Lady Hawks going 3 – 1 in the tournament was very good. They had only had 7 players, because some of the girls were out with the flu.
In the morning game Friday at Queen City, the Lady Hawks blew out the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs 42-15. Sophomore Kenasia Henry led the Lady Hawks with 20 points including 5-threes. Fellow sophomore Reese Gibbs pitched in with 9 points including 1-three and another sophomore, Rashila Williams scored seven.
The Lady Hawks (4-3) won the night cap 48-39 over the host team, the Queen City Lady Bulldogs.

Henry was the leading scoring for the Hawks in the victory over Queen City with 17 points including 2 treys. Autumn Crouch, a senior poured in 11 points and senior Adi Koller pitched in with nine.
“I’m Very proud of our girls. We got two good wins today,” Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head coach Codi Davidson said. “I’m very happy with how hard they played. They moved the ball well, made free throws, and forced a lot of turnovers.”

Coach Davidson hopes to have more players back soon

Codi Davidson said she hopes to have a full team Monday when the PG girls travel to Longview for the Lobo two day tournament.
The Lady Hawks play Winnsboro Monday at 10 a.m. and Longview at 2 p.m. Tuesday the Lady Hawks will play Center at Noon. Monday’s Lady Hawks games will be broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana. Tuesday’s Lady Hawks game will be carried on Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM and 1400 AM.
