Hornets Savage Storm Live United

The Emporia State University Hornets defeated the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm 48-27 in the Farmers Bank and Trust Live United Bowl Saturday at Arkansas High’s Razorbacks Stadium.

The Hornets got their revenge against Southeastern Oklahoma State (6-6).

Jordan Williams of the Hornets sacked the Savage Storm’s quarterback  Daulton Hatley on 4th down on the Savage Storms opening drive.  The Hornets’ marched 59 yards on six plays after the sack to take a 7-0 lead with a 33-yard pass from Braden Gleason to Jaylen Varner.

Savage Storm quarterback Daulton Hatley put up some huge numbers.  Hatley passed for 429 yards, but it wasn’t enough.

The Hornets never looked back

Emporia State led 21-0 with 2:44 left in the opening quarter.

Gleason finished the day 22-of-34 for 253 yard and five touchdowns.

Cade Harelson as named MVP with seven tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Emporia State finished their season 9-3. It’s the eighth time in school history it has won nine games.

Gleason finishes the season with 33 touchdown passes, tying Brent Wilson for second all-time at Emporia State.
