The Henderson Lions defeated the Pleasant Grove Hawks 58-55 in a boys varsity basketball game Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Middle School Gym.
Henderson was led by Jordan Smiley who scored 25 points including 5-threes. Van Landon scored sixteen.
The leading scorer for the Hawks was Trevon Ellis with 16 points. Princeton Vaughn scored 13 and Ben Bricker poured in twelve. Justin Casteel and Keighston King each had scored 6 points.
“We played well at times, but got to give Henderson a lot of credit,” Craig Collvins, Pleasant Grove Hawks boys basketball coach said. “They hit their shots down the stretch. It’s early but we got a lot of time to get things fixed. There’s plenty of basketball left to be played.”
PG’s boys will play in the New Boston Gunslinger tournament beginning Thursday
The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys varsity basketball team will play in the New Boston Gunslinger tournament the weekend.
The tournament begins Thursday. Pleasant Grove’s games at the New Boston tournament will be carried live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana
