
Texas A&M-Texarkana captured undisputed possession of first place in the Red River Athletic Conference Tuesday night by defeating nationally-ranked LSU-Shreveport, 90-79.
The Lady Eagles (9-1, 5-0) remained alone in conference by surviving LSU-Shreveport in overtime, 71-68.

The Eagles’ (10-2, 4-1) men came out hot at the start of the game at the Patterson Student Center, and the beginning of the second half.
TAMU-T did not make a field goal in the final 10 minutes, but the Pilots only outscored Texarkana 12-11 during that time period. The Eagles scored 11 points from the charity stripe.
Texarkana also buried 10 3-pointers with five players contributing.

LSU-Shreveport only half-game back
Junior guard Damani Whitlock led the Eagles with 21 points. Senior guard Kobe Powell finished with 17 points and 6-8 postman Tray Spencer added 16. Freshman Colby Rasberry added 11 points, and senior Justin Goodson made all eight of his points at the free throw line.
The Pilots were led by sophomore DeVonta Snow’s 25 points. Jalen Brooks scored 16, while Jordan DeCuir and Calvin Carpenter scored 11 each.
TAMU-T’s lead in conference is only a half-game. The Pilots are tied with Paul Quinn and Southwest at 3-1 in the RRAC.
