The Kilgore Bulldogs (8-13) defeated the Pleasant Grove Hawks 52-40 in a final Friday game at the Paris tournament for both teams.
The Hawks never got on track during the 3 day tournament going o-5.
The leading scorer for the Hawks Friday was Torion Phillips who scored 13 points. Drew Glover scored 11 for PG including 3-threes. Ben Bricker scored 9 points.
Braydon Nelson led the Bulldogs with 15 points and Da’arion Vanzandt pitched in with fourteen.
“Tough 3 days on the scoreboard but I thought our guys competed everyday,” Craig Collvins the Pleasant Grove Hawks head coach said. “The last game we got down early but made some plays on the offensive and defensive end to get it close.”
Coach Collvins said their were some positives
‘I think we can take some of the positives and apply it going forward,” Coach Collvins said. “We are still a work in progress but I still believe we are going to be where we need to be once district starts.”
Next for the Hawks
Pleasant Grove (7-12) will host Prairiland Tuesday January 3rd at 5 p.m. and finish up their pre-distrct Friday January 6th at Idabell. The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys varsity basketball games air live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
