
Pleasant Groove’s boys varsity soccer team started hot in their first game at the Kilgore tournament Friday. PG dominated 5a Hallsville with a 3-0 win.
Agbor Fumoso’s goal off of a Hayes Lawrence shot deflection, Cade Weinheimer score from a William Otero Assist, and a goal from James Solomon from a Hayes Lawrence Assist were more than the Hawks needed.

The PG boys varsity finished Friday with a tough loss against a solid Pine Tree team. Pine tree beat the Hawks 3-2. Hayes Lawrence scored for PG on a free kick, and a goal.
The Hawks boys JV team was defeated by Pine Tree 2-0.
Saturday the Hawk boys varsity ended the tournament with a great battle against a very good Lindale team. However, the Hawks came up just short, losing 2-1 .

Hawks Coach Christa Henry said her team learned some lessons

“We came into this tournament with really high expectations,” PG boys varsity soccer coach said Christa Henry. “We had a lot of great opportunities, we learned a few tough lessons, but it is a promising start to our regular season and we’re excited to see where we go from here.”
The PG boys will play in the Tatum tournament next Thursday through Saturday against Spring Hill, Tatum and New Diana.
