
The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys varsity basketball team defeated the North Lamar Panthers 57-56 at Hawks gym Friday. It was the district Opener for both teams.
The Hawks were led by junior Jaylen Boardley who scored all of his 14 points in the second half. Ben Biker scored 13 and Drew Glover poured in eleven.
North Lamar (7-13, 0-1) was led by Case Fendley who scored 22 points including 6-3’s.

Boardley was named the Player of the game sponsored by Rogers Trophy on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana, the radio station for Hawks boys basketball.
A huge group of students showed up for Friday’s Hawks game and the team fed on their enthusiasm and support.
“It was live, I love it,” Jaylen Boardley said about the fan section. “Those are my boys right there.”
“Jaylen Boardley and Drew Glover did some great things tonight,” Craig Collvins, Pleasant Grove Hawks head coach said.” They got the ball to the rim late and had some action underneath. Plus, our guys hitting free throws down the stretch was the key.”
