The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks varsity soccer team smoked Benton 9-1 at the Battle of the Border Tournament in Shreveport, La., Friday. The match was played at Captain Shreve High’s Stadium.
The game ended early due to the mercy rule. However, the explosive Lady Hawks offense showed no mercy.
Catherine Joyce led the Lady Hawks in Scoring
Catherine Joyce led the Lady Hawks scoring attack with 4 goals including 1 on a corner kick. Joyce also contributed with an assist.
PG’s Savannah Russ and Rylie Williams both scored twice. Williams also had 2 assists.
Lady Hawks Head Coach Andy Allen said his team dominated
“I thought we dominated from the start, we scored 9 goals in about 41 minutes. since we were up by eight goals the mercy rule came into effect,” Coach Allen said. “We played well and got to go home early to get rested for tomorrow.”
The Lady Hawks will play 2 big games Saturday against Caddo Magnet & Airline.
