The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks girls varsity basketball were defeated by the Paris Lady Wildcats 62-50 at the PG Gym Tuesday night.
The Lady Wildcats were led by Keshanti Gordon who poured in 18 points. Asia Johnson pitched in with 14 points for Paris while Jazz Dangerfield scored twelve.
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks (12-11, 0-4) leading scorer was Emma Henard who scored 16 points including 4 three pointers. Autumn Crouch scored 10 points, while Reese Gibbs and Kenasia Henry each scored 7 points,
The Lady Hawks had one bad quarter
“We had one bad quarter and we paid for it. The second quarter was slow for us,” Codi Davidson, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head basketball coach said.
Lady Hawk Adi star Koller was injured
Lady Hawk senior Adi Koller got hurt so PG was forced to make some adjustments, and they went into halftime down ten. The Lady Hawks went down by 22 at one point in the third quarter, hence the importance of Koller. Coach Davidson called a key timeout and it appeared to help PG regain their composure.
“Overall, I’m proud of my team, they fought hard,” Davidson said. “I believe we can beat them the next time we play them.”
