The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys varsity basketball team lost a hard fought battle versus #11 Sulphur Springs at Hawks Gym in Texarkana, Tx., Tuesday night.

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats defeated the Pleasant Grove Hawks 67-55. PG fought hard the whole game.

Hawks head coach Craig Collvins was proud

“As a competitor you hate to lose on the scoreboard but I couldn’t be more proud of our effort and fight throughout the game,” Hawks head coach Craig Collvins said. “We weathered some adversity and cut it down to 3 at one point but just couldn’t get over the hump.”

Collvins said he couldn’t question his players willingness to keep competing.

“I’m looking forward to our next game Friday and see what we can accomplish,” Coach Collvins said.

The Hawks (9-16, 2-2)  were led by senior Drew Glover who rained threes. Glover was the Hawks leading scorer with 14 points including 4 from outside the arch.
Hawk Sophomore Halston “the Human Eraser” Baca poured in 11 points and junior Torion “the Bus Driver” Phillips chipped in with eight.
Hawk senior “The Mail Man” Ben Bricker scored  7 points while sophomore Keighston King scored six.
Kordrick Turner led Sulphur Springs (22-7, 4-0) with 17 Points and Parker Whisenhunt scored sixteen. Malachi Myles scored 12 for the Wildcats.
Pleasant Grove will travel to crosstown rival Liberty-Eylau Friday. Pleasant Grove Hawks basketball games are broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
