It was foul night at the Lady Hawks gym. The visiting Liberty Eylau Lady Leopards took on Pleasant Grove, and although the Lady hawks came out on the better end of the free throws going 25-41 from the Charity Stripe they would eventually go down to the Leopards by the score of 58-46.

Mya Hurd again led the way for the Lady Leopards scoring a game high 18 points.  Lady Hawks were led by Kenasia Henry with 15 points including going 11-13 from the free throw line.  Emma Henard had 12 points and Madison Carpenter had 7.

Coach Davidson said the Lady Hawks played fast

“We played a fast, and physical game tonight. We knew that this game would come down to who could make free throws and who could rebound. We won the free throw battle, we made 60% going 25/41, but LE won the rebounding battle,” Codi Davidson, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head basketball coach said . “We gave ourselves plenty of chances. We drove to the basket, we made some big shots, and did pretty well defensively and forced LE to have to shoot outside, we just got out-rebounded.”

Coach Davidson was proud of her team

“I’m proud of my team. They fought hard, like always, until the buzzer and never gave up,” Coach Davidson said.
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks fall to 0-7 in District and 12-15 overall.  Liberty Eylau improves to 5-2 in District.
