TEXARKANA — The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) says that the intersection of Richmond Road and Galleria Oaks will receive a new traffic signal in the summer.
TXDOT announced Jan. 27 that the plans were approved to upgrade the traffic signal.
According to the transportation department, the improvements will assist motorists turning left onto Richmond Road from Galleria Oaks during busier times of the day. The city of Texarkana, Texas, worked with TXDOT on the project.
“Work is scheduled to begin this May, and the project is estimated to take about four months to complete, weather permitting,” TXDOT Atlanta District Director of Transportation Operations Christina Trowler said.
The winning bid of $225,789.76 was awarded to WG Engineering & Construction, LLC of Allen, Texas.
