TEXARKANA — The Paris Wildcats surmounted a 17-point deficit to overcome the Pleasant Grove Hawks 62-56 Friday night at Hawk Gym.
The Hawks are 3-4 in district. Drew Glover led the way with 15 points for the Hawks. Torion Phillips provided 14 with Ben Bricker contributing 1o.
“Thought our kids gave themselves a shot to win tonight,” Pleasant Grove coach Craig Collvins said. “We did a great job of taking 10 (Jamar Jackson) out of the game. Then he got Six to eight points in a row and I think it gave their outside shooters a little more confidence to shoot it. Proud of our guys, and can’t be more proud those guys in the locker room.”
Paris improves to 5-2 in district. Carlton Hicks had 14 for the Wildcats. Treshawn Savage had 13. Jamar Jackson had 12. Dycorian Douglas had 10.

“Real proud of his kids, down 17 points in second half and came back against a pretty good team, well coached team, and really proud of our their effort and the way they executed late,” Paris coach Billy Mack Steed said.
Pleasant Grove plays Pittsburg at home on Tuesday.
