The Liberty-Eylau Leopards downed the Pleasant Grove Hawks 64-57 in boys varsity basketball Tuesday. It was the last district game for both teams who are both headed to the playoffs.

Leopards head coach Billly Brewer said it was an exciting game. Brewer said the game featured 2 cross town rivals and you couldn’t ask for a better game.
“Give them (The Hawks( credit), they came to play and coach Collvins did a great job,” Billy Brewer said. “They came ready to play.”
PG (12-1, 4-6) was led by senior Drew Glover who scored 13 points, junior Jaylen Boardley poured in 12 and sophomore Keighston King scored ten.
Game may have been decided by second chance points
Pleasant Grove Hawks head coach Craig Collvins said that he thought the game was decided by second chance points.
“LE hit the glass and got several put backs,” Craig Collvins said. “You look at a 7-point game and those things are magnified.”
Collvins said his Hawks did a great job getting through LE’s full court press getting it into a half court game.
“Our kids got after them but unfortunately things didn’t work out on the scoreboard,” Collvins said.
Liberty-Eylau finished 3rd in district and the Hawks finished fourth. We did not have the teams next opponents at press time. We were also waiting or the dates and times of the playoff games they will play.
