The Pleasant Grove sunk the Crandall Pirates 6-0 at the Whitehouse tournament Thursday.

Pleasant Grove 4 pitchers in the shutout. Walker Wright,Spencer Browning, Justin Poe and Cade Martin all pitched. Browning earned the win, Martin got the save.

The Hawks are now 3 – 1 overall and 3-0 at the Whitehouse tornament going into Friday afternoon’s game against 6A Lake Highlands. PG’s 3 victories so far at the tournament were all over larger class 5A teams.

Brenton Clark was 1-4 with an RBI and he threw a running out trying to tag when he was in center field. Hunter Rose was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Buck Anderson was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Spencer Browning was 1-for-4, Ty Boozer was 1-for-2.

Hawks coach Riley Fincher was happy his pitchers threw strikes

“They filled the strike zone, that’s all we ask out pitchers to do and tha’ts what they did from from first inning on,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant Grove head baseball coach said.

Saturday the Hawks will finish up Whitehouse tournament play with a game against Bullard at 4:30 p.m.
