Rains defeated the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks 5-0 Thursday on the first day of the Mount Pleasant softball tournament.
The Lady Hawks could only muster 2 hits, 1 from MJ Williams and another from Hailey Allen.
PG Coach Becca Collom’s comments after the game
“Even though we didn’t come out with a win, we put in some good work that is showing growth, pitching and defensively. We didn’t adjust in the box very well, Becca Collom, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball coach said.
“We will look to come back tomorrow with different approach and make the necessary changes to have some better outcomes. We had quite a few good at bats just didn’t have much to show for it. Really just trying to get back on track and hopefully break through tomorrow.”
Lady Hawks will play 1 of their games on the Radio Friday
The Lady Hawks have 2 games Friday at the Mount Pleasant tournament. they play Paririland at 9 a.m. and Hooks at 10:30 a.m.
The Lady Hawks game against Hooks will be carried live on Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM and 1400 AM.
The Lady Hawks will play 2 games Saturday at the Mount Pleasant tournament.They’ll play Farmersville at 4 p.m. and wrap up tournament play Saturday at 5:45 p.m. versus New Diana.
