
The Lake Highlands Wildcats defeated the Pleasant Grove Hawks 5-2 at the Whithehouse baseball tournament Saturday.
Mason Parsons was the winning pitcher for Lake Highlands. Parsons pitched a complete 7 innings, allowing 2 runs, 3 hits, striking out 5 and walking two.
Hawks starting pitcher Brenton Clark left the game after 4 solid innings with the Hawks in the lead 2-1. Clark allowed 4 hits, 1 run, striking out 3 and walking two. Hawk reliever Cade Martin pitched the final 2 innings for PG.
Hawks coach Riley Fincher was pleased with Clark and Martin’s pitching
“I thought Brenton threw well for 4 innings and Cade Martin came out and was a bulldog and competed,” Coach Fincher said.
Pleasant Grove’s 3 hits were a doubles by Jarret Halter and Hunter Rose and an RBi double by Ty Boozer.
“I thought it was a good game. We had a couple mistakes late in the game that resulted in the final score,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant Grove head baseball coach said. “The good thing about baseball is we get to come out here again and compete tomorrow.
Pleasant Grove (3-2) will wrap up play at the Whitehouse tournament Saturday at 4:30 p.m. versus Bullard. The Hawks Bullard game will be broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
