
Pleasant Grove starting pitcher Jarrett Halter pitched a complete 6 inning game allowing 6 hits, no earned runs, striking out 2 and allowing only 1 walk and the Pleasant Grove Hawks beat College Station 6-1.
The win was the second for PG Saturday at the Lufkin tournament in Lufkin, Texas. Earlier in the day the Hawks beat Crandall 5-2.
In the victory over the College Station Cougars, the Hawks mustered 6 hits. Hunter Rose was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ty Boozer was 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.
Hawks head coach Riley Fincher praised Halter for his hard work
“Every time he (Jarrett Halter) steps on the mound he works his butt off, and you saw that today,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant boys head baseball coach said.
The Hawks will play Lufkin at 1:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the tournament. To win the tournament the Hawks would have to win 3 games on Saturday.
