Pleasant Grove was led at the plate by Cade Martin who was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Martin lined out to 2nd base with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to end the game.

Pleasant Grove Hawks head baseball coach Riley Fincher was pleased with both pitchers.

“I thought are starting pitcher Jarret Halter did a real good job and our freshman Walker Wright kept us right in it, Riley Fincher Pleasant Grove Hawks head baseball coach said. “At the end we had a chance to win it, with our 4 hitter Cade Martin. He hit one of the hardest line drives of the tournament right at somebody and that’s baseball. The good thing is we get a chance to play a couple more games today and we expect to get after it.”

The Hawks will play 6A Naamen Forest at 4:15 p.m. and Hallsville at 6:15 p.m. Friday. All the Pleasant Grove baseball games at the Hallsville tournament are aired live on 94.1 FM ESPN Texarkana. 2t
