
The Pleasant Grove Hawks Lady Hawks softball team defeated the Genoa Central Lady Dragons 7-5 at Lady Hawks Field.
Mackenzie Williams was 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored for the Lady Hawks. Other Lady Hawks who had big nights at the plate were Abby Runion, Adi Koller and Presley Humphrey. Runion was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, 2 runs and a stolen base. Koller was 1-for-4 with a triple, 2 runs and a stolen base while Humphrey went 1-for-three.
“I was very proud of the girls for staying calm and not pressing after the first half inning,” Becca Collom, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball coach said.” They stayed within themselves and produced.”
Lady Hawk Coach Becca Collom was glad
“I was very glad to see them adjust and to break through, Coach Collom said. “Our defense has the opportunity to make some plays with pressure. I’m always happy to see that definitely something we can draw from later.”
Abby Runion started in the circle for the lady Hawks. She pitched 4 innings allowing 3 earned runs, striking out 1 and walking four. Sarah Hackleman pitched the last 3 innings. Hackleman allowed no earned runs striking out 3 and walking none.
The Lady Hawks next game is against Brownsboro at Lady Hawks field with a 2 p.m. start time.
