Halter (4-0) allowed 3 hits striking out 13 and walking only 1 in the first district game for both teams.

The Hawks had 5 hits. Halter and JM Long each doubled. Buck Anderson, Spencer Browning and Ty Boozer each singled.

“I thought he (Halter) got stronger as the game went on,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant Grove Hawks head baseball coach said.” All 3 pitches were working extremely well and we made some good plays behind him and he dominated tonight and that’s what we expect of him.”

The  Hawks are Young and they started 5 freshman

“Anytime you come out and win it’s always good especially to get the first one. We have a lot of new players that haven’t been in this situation before and that was huge to get it. We are looking forward to coming out in practice tomorrow and getting better, Coach Fincher said.

Halter said he could have done a little better

” I thought I could of been a little bit better but overall it was pretty good,” Jarrett Halter said. However, this reporter thinks that Halter was practically flawless.

Halter said his best pitch Tuesday was his curve ball.
