The Pleasant Grove Hawks boys varsity soccer team dominated the Pirates in possession Friday at Pittsburg. The Hawks came away with a 2-1 win. It was the last district game of the season. PG finished third in district with a record of 8-4 on the season.
Andrew Hutcheson scored an absolute screamer in the first half to put PG on top.
Agbor Fomuso followed with the winning goal coming from a set piece. The Solomon brothers, Bennett (Jr) and James (Fr) both come away with assists on the night.
“I have to give a shoutout to Andrew Hutcheson,” Pleasant Grove Hawks boys soccer coach Christa Henry said. “He has been the unsung hero of this offense all year.”
Coach Henry said that Hutcheson’s maturity, consistency, and IQ have and continue to give PG an edge over their opponents in the midfield.
“We could not have had our success this season without his ability; he is truly a gifted soccer player,” Coach Henry said. “And now that we have our full roster back from injuries, we are exactly where we want to be heading into playoffs.”
The Hawks boys JV soccer team battled for 60 minutes ending in a draw against Pittsburg, 0-0.
