Hawk sophomore pitcher Abby Runion pitched 7 innings and Hailey Allen hit a home run and the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball team beat Pittsburg 9-1 at Lady Hawks Filed Saturday.
The Lady Hawks had 11 hits. Addi Koller and Runion were each 2-for-four. Koller tripled and Sarah Hackleman, Presley Humphrey and Jack Smith each doubled.
It took the Lady Hawks time to adjust
“We didn’t adjust in the box as fast as I would have liked,” Becca Collom, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head softball coach said. “I will give them credit for not pressing.”
Coach Collom said her Hawks kept coming
“We kept at it till we broke it open,” Coach Collom said.
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks (12-8-1, 3-0) will host Sulphur Springs Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Hawks Field.
