
Luke Flanagan and the Pleasant Grove Hawks mowed down the Sulphur Springs Wildcats 10-0 at Hawks Field Saturday.
The game was called in the bottom of the 5th with nobody out when PG scored their 10th run. JM Long drew a walk driving in the final Hawk run resulting in the 10-run-rule win.
Flanagan, the sophomore Hawks starter pitched 4 innings. Flanagan allowed no runs, 4 hits, striking out 4 and walking three. Freshman reliever Walker Wright pitched the final inning not allowing a run.
The Hawks only had 5 hits. However, they drew 5 walks, 3 batters were hit by pitches and the Wildcats committed numerous errors.
Hawks freshman 3rd baseman Spencer Browning was 2-for-3. Hawks shortstop JM Long doubled and Cade Martin had a 2-RBI single.
The Hawks did not make any errors and had 2 double plays.
Hawk head coach Riley Fincher was happy with the win
“Luke (Flanagan) did a great job and did just what we asked, he threw strikes,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant Grove head baseball coach said. “I thought our guys in the field played excellent in back of him; it was huge.”

Pleasant Grove (16-4-1, 7-0) play at North Lamar Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
